SEO for builders: be the firm that comes up for the job, in the town, with the photos

Search engine optimisation for a builder is not a mystery. Someone in your town types the job and the place. Google shows three firms on a map and a list of pages. The firms that appear have a profile set up for that job, a page about that job with real photos, reviews that mention it, and mentions elsewhere that say the firm is real. We do those four things every month, in that order, and show you the numbers. From £399 a month, prices on the site.

The searches

Five searches that bring a builder work, and what wins each

They are won by different things. A homepage that says “all aspects of building work undertaken” wins none of them.

'Extension builders <town>'
A job page about extensions with the town in it, photos of one you built there, and the profile listing extensions as a service.
'Loft conversion <town>'
Same again for lofts: the types you do, the regs you handle, a project or two, a price logic paragraph.
'Builders near me'
The map pack. Decided by the profile: category, service area, reviews, photos. The website backs it up; it does not win it alone.
'How much does an extension cost UK'
A guide, not a sales page. It brings people a year before they build and gets you named when they ask an AI the same question.
'<Your name> builders'
Your own name, after a recommendation. Won in weeks once the site and the profile agree on who you are.

Each month

The cycle, in the order it pays

Profile first because it moves fastest. Pages second because they take a season. Reviews and mentions throughout, because they decide the map once you are in it. Measurement every month, because a report you cannot check is a story.

  1. 1

    Profile

Categories for the jobs you want, service area matching the towns you take, photos from real sites, hours, the description, questions answered. Kept right as Google changes the list.

  2. 2

    Pages

One a month: a job page, an area you genuinely work, or a project write-up. Written after a ten-minute call, checked by you, with your photos.

  3. 3

    Reviews and mentions

The handover routine that produces a review at the end of every job; FMB, TrustMark and the directories that matter, with your name, address and phone identical everywhere.

  4. 4

    Numbers

Search Console read by a person. Which pages are shown and not clicked, which searches are close, what we changed and what we refused to. Two pages, plain English.

Fit

Builders this is built for

  • The firm booked solid on small jobs. The pages let you choose: more extensions and lofts, fewer fence panels and shed bases.
  • The specialist who travels. Loft firms, timber-frame builders, groundworks contractors. The map matters less, the job pages and the mentions matter more, and the towns are chosen one by one.
  • The builder in a town with a national firm on page one. A longer road, described as such in the audit. Independents win it on projects, reviews and specificity.
  • Two bases, or a commercial arm. Each gets its own profile and pages, because Google treats them as separate businesses.

Lines we do not cross

Because they cost builders the map

  • A page for every town within thirty miles on a template. Google's scaled-content policy filters them and the real pages sink with them.
  • Keywords in the business name on the Google profile. Suspension, then weeks of reinstatement.
  • Bought reviews, staff reviews, or reviews only asked for after a good job. Policy breaches, and incentivised reviews are an offence under UK consumer law.
  • Guarantees of page one. We guarantee the work listed and the numbers shown.
  • Rewriting a page that already brings enquiries because a checklist said so.

What the tiers contain is on the pricing page.

Questions builders ask us

What do I get each month?

Profile upkeep and review replies; a new job page, area page or project write-up most months; mentions on the registers and directories that matter for builders; a technical check for speed and indexing; and a two-page report from Search Console written by the person who did the work, including what we chose not to change.

How long before it brings jobs?

The profile moves in weeks. A new job page takes three to six months to settle, longer in a city with national firms on page one. Extensions and lofts are the competitive searches; garage conversions, garden rooms and structural work often have room. The audit says which for your towns.

Is it worth it if I am fully booked?

Being booked on small jobs is why most builders come to us. The pages let you choose the work: more extensions, fewer fence panels. And a builder who is booked for six months can afford to be picky, which is when the site earns most.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

Three months minimum, then monthly. If it is not working by month six we say so before you do.

What if I stop?

You keep the site, the profile, the pages and the reviews. Nothing is held. The monthly additions stop and the growth slows.
