Why us
Why us: the seven questions builders ask on the first call, answered with things you can check
Builders ask the same seven questions before they hire us, and every answer on this page is a fact rather than a claim: one person does the work and answers the phone, the prices are published, you own everything, the retainer is three months then monthly, and we take one builder per town. Where the honest answer is a limit, the limit is written down too. Check any of it on this site, on the ICO register, or by ringing 07591 018609.
“Who actually builds it?”
Daniel Stoychev. One person, a developer and SEO specialist in Wrexham, who builds the site, sets up the Google Business Profile, reads Search Console and writes the monthly report. When you ring 07591 018609 you get the person who knows your site, because there is nobody else to put you through to. There are no account managers, no sales team and no offshore writers. The forty-minute call at the start is with the person who will write the pages, and the corrections you send come back to the same person.
That is a smaller operation than an agency, and it should be said plainly. It means the site is built by the person you spoke to, and it means capacity is limited, which is one of the reasons towns get taken. If you want a team of six and a project manager, we are the wrong fit and would rather say so on the first call.
“Do I own it?”
Yes, all of it, from the day it goes live. The domain is registered to you, not to us; if we register it for you, it goes in your name, and we never move it into an account of our own. The site is built on our own stack and you can take it to any host; the words and the photographs are yours; the Google Business Profile and the reviews on it are yours, with us added as a manager you can remove in a minute. Hosting and care is a yearly product at £159, bought from us or not.
A site you cannot take with you is a subscription whatever it is called. We do not sell those, and it is the first thing worth asking any other quote about.
“What happens if I stop paying?”
On the website, nothing. It is yours whether you carry on with the monthly work or not. On the retainer, three months is the minimum, then it is monthly with a month's notice. When you stop, the monthly additions stop and you keep every page, every profile change and every review. Nothing is held hostage and nothing is switched off.
The one thing that changes is the town. While you are on the retainer, no other builder in your town is; when you leave, the town becomes free for the next builder who asks. That is the honest cost of stopping, and it is written on the pricing page so nobody finds out later.
“Why is the price on the website?”
Because a builder who publishes a from-price on a rear extension is entitled to see ours without a meeting. Websites from £599, the Builder site at £1,200, the retainer from £399 a month, hosting and care at £159 a year, the profile build at £200. They are the same for every builder in every town, there is no set-up fee, and Google Ads spend goes to Google on your card and is never marked up. Most quotes in this trade are produced after a call so the number can be fitted to the caller. Ours cannot be, because it is already published.
“How do I know you can do it?”
Three ways, in order of strength. First, the two trade businesses on the results page: a tuning firm whose site went from a mobile speed score of 65 to 96 after we rebuilt the failing parts, and a specialist garage with no website that was third in the map pack five weeks after we built one. Google's own figures, dates stated, caveats attached, and neither is a builder, which the page says.
Second, the sites we build and run for ourselves, listed below. Every one is live and built on the stack your site would get, and you can put any of them through PageSpeed Insights or the free checker on our home page. They prove we build what we sell. They do not prove rankings or traffic, and we do not claim that they do.
Third, this site. It is the builder site we describe, doing what we say a builder's site should do. If it is slow, badly written or hard to use on a phone, you have your answer. Everything is on the projects page, with the real work and the worked examples labelled separately.
“What are you bad at?”
Photography: we brief it, we do not shoot it, and a site waits for your photographs rather than filling the gap with stock. Speed of the build: about four weeks from the brief to live, most of it waiting for your photos and your answers, and we do not promise faster. Availability: one person means a phone that is answered in working hours, not a 24-hour desk. Guarantees: we do not promise a position on Google, because nobody controls that, and anyone who promises it is describing a search nobody makes. And scale: we take one builder per town, so we will turn down the second one, and there is a limit to how many towns one person can do well.
“Why only one builder per town?”
Because two builders chasing “extension builders” in the same town would be a conflict we could only manage by hiding it from one of them. So we do not take the second. The rule is set out on the pricing page: Local protects your home town, Growth protects the towns we build pages for, Multi-location protects each base, and a website build on its own does not take the town, the retainer does. Put your town on the quote form and the reply within one working day says whether it is free, in writing. If it is taken we say so before you have spent anything. The mechanics are on the areas page.
